Part 2. Raise the cart
7 The thank-you page, which catches everyone the first page missed
The safety net for buyers Shopify never showed a one-click offer to, and the setting that adds the item to the order they already placed.
Chapter 2 gave you a number: the share of your orders that can receive a one-click offer. This chapter is about the rest of them, and on plenty of stores the rest is the majority.
Every buyer reaches the order confirmation page. Wallets, PayPal, gift cards, bank redirects, all of them land here. So this is the one surface with no eligibility problem at all.
The safety net, which costs nothing
Inside a funnel there is a thank-you tab. The first rule you can build there targets buyers who never saw the one-click page.
It is available on the free plan and always has been. If you build one thing after your first funnel, build this.
Same order, same parcel
By default, a thank-you offer opens a new checkout, which means a second order and a second parcel. That is a problem for you and an annoyance for the buyer.
The app can instead add the item to the order that already exists. The buyer taps, the line joins their order at the discounted price, and if there is a balance to settle they pay only the difference. One order in Shopify, one picking list, one shipping label.
This is the setting that convinced the merchant we mentioned in chapter 2, the one whose buyers mostly pay by bank redirect. Without it they had no working post-purchase surface at all.
- Left: the buyer's thank-you card, before clicking
- Right: the Shopify order afterwards, showing both lines and the discount on the added one
- The order number visible in both panels, identical

Smarter rules, once you are on Pro
Above the safety net sits a second kind of rule, for buyers who did see the one-click page. These react to what happened there: they accepted a specific offer, they accepted at least one, or they refused everything.
Someone who refused three offers should not meet a fourth. Someone who accepted the wax is a good candidate for the tuning kit. Rules are matched from the top down, and the first one that fits is the one served.
A thank-you rule only applies inside its own funnel. This is the single most common support question we get. Rules live in a funnel, so a buyer who went through funnel B never meets a rule you configured in funnel A. If a rule seems to do nothing, check which funnel the buyer actually went through before assuming anything is broken.
What you should have now
A safety net rule live, and a test order paid with a wallet or PayPal so the one-click page is skipped on purpose. That is the only way to see the net do its job.
