AfterSell alternative: $19.99 flat, 50 orders or 50,000

AfterSell starts at $34.99, has no free plan for live stores, and its top tier puts other brands' offers on your thank-you page. Here is the arithmetic.

If you are looking at AfterSell, look at the price column first, because that is where this decision actually gets made.

What it costs, from its own listing on August 7, 2026

PlanPriceOrders per month
Freedevelopment stores only
Starter$34.99 / month0 to 500
Growth$54.99 / month501 to 1,000
Scale$99.99 / month1,001 to 2,000

Read the Starter row again. $34.99 a month, from zero orders. Not after you prove the app works. Not once it has paid for itself. From your first order, whether it sold anything for you or not.

And the free plan is for development stores. There is no way to run it on a store that takes real money without paying first.

What we charge

$19.99 a month. Flat. At 50 orders, at 5,000 orders, at 50,000 orders.

There is also a free plan that runs on a live store: one funnel, 100 shown offers a month. Enough to find out whether your buyers accept anything before you hand anyone a card.

The gap, in the only unit that matters

Your monthly ordersAfterSellUsYou keep
Under 500$34.99$19.99$180 a year
501 to 1,000$54.99$19.99$420 a year
1,001 to 2,000$99.99$19.99$960 a year

The gap does not close as you grow. It opens. Every order you add takes you further into a tier that costs more, and our line stays where you found it. The price you install on is the price you keep, and that is written into the Code this app is built under rather than promised in an email.

The part that is not about money

AfterSell’s top tier includes Rokt monetization, described on the listing as earning revenue from offers placed in front of your buyers after checkout.

That page is the most valuable screen you own. You paid for it twice, once in ad spend and once in the product, and it is the one moment where your customer’s attention is guaranteed. Renting it to another brand is a decision worth making deliberately rather than inheriting from a plan.

Ours shows your products. Only ever your products, on every plan, with no setting to find and switch off.

What the $19.99 buys

Both surfaces Shopify gives you after the payment, not one. On the post-purchase page, a one-tap offer added to the order that was just placed, on the card that was just charged, with no second checkout. Three levels deep, seven offers in the tree, and every offer carries its own two children: one for the buyer who just accepted, a different one for the buyer who just declined. Targeting on order total or on cart contents. Twenty funnels.

On the thank-you page, which Shopify renders on every single order including the ones the post-purchase page never reaches, the offer can be added to the order that already exists rather than opening a second checkout. One order, one parcel, one shipping label. That went live on real orders on August 6, 2026.

Then three things that are less about the offer and more about what happens after the buyer says yes.

One parcel, not two. When someone accepts, the item joins the order that already exists. Same order number for your support inbox, one picking slip for your warehouse, one shipping label you pay for. And because Shopify hands a paid order to fulfillment the second the buyer reaches the status page, we hold that order ourselves until the accepted line is in, so it cannot leave without it. A merchant asked one of the older incumbents for that and was told it was not possible.

Subscriptions, both directions. Sell one to a one-time buyer right after payment, or extend the one they just took, three months into six, without moving their next charge date.

The number that decides whether any of this is worth your time: what share of your recent orders can even receive a post-purchase offer, and why the rest cannot. Computed on your orders, free on every plan including the free one. Charging you to find out whether the thing can work would be absurd.

Switching takes one setting

Shopify renders exactly one post-purchase extension at a time, and which one is a single selection in your checkout settings. There is no gap, no overlap to manage, and the way back is the same dropdown. Keep AfterSell installed while you try. Nothing stops you.

Rebuild your funnel on our free plan, run the same offer you are running now, and compare acceptance rates on your own orders instead of on anyone’s marketing page. A hundred shown offers is enough to see one.

Questions we get asked

Do I have to uninstall AfterSell first? No. Shopify renders one post-purchase extension at a time and you pick it in your checkout settings, so both apps can sit installed while only one serves. Switch back with the same dropdown.

Will my buyers see two offers? No. Only the selected extension renders.

What happens to my funnel if I stop paying? It pauses, it is not deleted. Offers beyond the free limits stop being served and come back exactly as they were if you upgrade again.

Is $19.99 really flat at any volume? Yes. No commission, no order tier, no upsell-revenue meter. And the price you install on is the price you keep even if we raise it for new stores later.

How long does setting up the first funnel take? About ten minutes. If you would rather not spend the evening on it, the live chat in the app reaches the person who built it.
